Acacia, an independent facilities management company, has been awarded the Eco Vadis Silver Medal in corporate social responsibility (CSR) for sustainability in 2020.
Sustainability is at the heart of Acacia’s approach to facilities management and informs all areas of our service. The Eco Vadis silver medal for sustainability is awarded to companies who can meet the criteria in labour and human rights, the environment, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
The silver medal places Acacia in the top 25% of companies scored by EcoVadis and provides independent validation of our commitment to continuous improvement in our sustainability programmes.
Continuous improvements
Acacia’s dedication to sustainability is embedded in everything we do. As part of the Eco Vadis rating, we showed how we work with our clients and our supply chain to set targets in order to deliver improved sustainability across our services.
Our commitment to protecting the environment is evident in our sustainable use of water, our waste reduction programmes including the elimination of single use plastics, our energy management programmes and our implementation of ISO 14001:2015 on all of our client sites. Acacia’s robust policies on labour, human rights and ethics are focused on our employees’ welfare throughout our company and our commitment to principled, sustainable business practices including information security and anti-corruption policies.
Additionally, our desire to maintain ethical and sustainable practices extend to our supply chain where we seek out suppliers who meet our rigorous standards for environmental and social practices. As a result, the EcoVadis award gives our business partners transparency on our sustainable practices and gives us goals for the future as part of our commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability.
Acacia scored more points in each of these areas than our category competitors and as a result was awarded the silver medal for 2020.
