Chairman of IPFMA Facility Committee speaks at Conference

by | Sep 10, 2011 | Energy, Environmental

David O’Brien, chairman of IPFMA Facility Committee, told delegates that “many organisations spend tens of millions of Euro building and fitting out corporate headquarters and other facilities without stress testing the expected performance of the building when completed”.

“There is a growing realisation that sustainability, energy efficiency and overall performance of new and existing buildings needs to improve radically. To meet these expectations, and to reduce gaps between predicted and achieved performance, the design and construction profession must not only focus on technical inputs, but also put much more emphasis on in-use performance of buildings”.
