Building a Positive Future with Swords Men’s Sheds

Acacia were delighted to support Swords Men’s Sheds launch their new home in Seatown Road – another positive move for the vibrant Fingal community.

Based in the Riasc Centre in Kinsealy since 2015, increased membership levels prompted the move to this dedicated facility.  Acacia provided design, hands-on technical support and leveraged our supplier base to kick-start service.

Men’s Sheds is a community-based, non-commercial organisation open to all men and has over 400 sheds nationally.  With the primary objective to advance the health and well-being of all participants it provides a safe, friendly and inclusive environment where men can gather and/or work on projects at their own pace.   In addition, Men’s Sheds core values resonate deeply with our Acacia values; Honesty & Openness, Equality & Inclusion and Leadership.

Commenting on the support provided by Acacia Micheal Quinn, Trustee of Swords Men’s Shed stated:

This has had a huge impact on the development of Swords Men’s Shed.  Acacia made it possible to be fully operational with heat, light and power.  This enabled us to use our scarce funds to carry out other important work in the building.

Without Acacia it would have taken us another year to get to where we are now, in June 2018.

On behalf of all the members of Swords Men’s Shed I want to thank Acacia and their suppliers for their great generosity and support and congratulate them on their commitment to the community.”

Not only was this project an opportunity for Acacia to support a worthy cause but also to increase our Community engagement.  We manage several Community Centers within the Fingal area and are committed to supporting a more positive environment for all.
