Acacia was delighted to host an international conference event for its fellow members of ISO 41001 Technical Committee (TC 267). The event was an opportunity for this international group of FM experts to soak up some Irish culture in the iconic Guinness Storehouse.
David O’Brien, Acacia’s Managing Director is the Irish TC 267 representative. After the event, David commented, “the event was a resounding success. It provided a short recess from the important work undertaken over the course of the 3 day conference.“
Why is the work of the Technical Committee so important?
The Technical Committee has developed the ISO standard for Facilities Management (ISO41001:2018). Its made up of FM experts from over fifty countries across the Globe. Each year the committee holds two international conferences in different countries. For example, in 2018 David chaired the Joint Working Group meeting in Geneva – see here for details. The next event will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia.
What is the Joint Working Group?
The Joint Working Group (JWG) 51, is responsible for developing ISO 72021-11 Technical Specification for the competence requirements for auditing ISO 41001. This is a critical element in the development of the standard, which sets competency levels for Standards Organisations worldwide to audit compliance with ISO 41001.
